Scabies
Human scabies is an intensely pruritic skin infestation caused by the host-specific mite Sarcoptes scabiei hominis. Approximately 300 million cases of scabies are reported worldwide each year.

Transmission- close contact with ifnected human sheet towels

Signs and symptoms

  1. Severe itching more intense at night 
  2. papules 1-2 cm in size located at webs of hands , on wrists , ulnar aspects of fore arms , elbows, biblical area , genitalia , feet and buttocks 
Complication
Secondary streptococcal infection may result in acute glomerulo nepheritis

Treatment
Topical scabicidal should be applied all over the bode below the neck including on the freee edge of nails, genitails , soles feet
  1. Bezyl benzoate25% three application at 12 hrsly intervals
  2. Penmethrin 5% over night single applicantion (treatment of choice >2month of age)
  3. Crotamiton 10% two application daily for 14 days <2 month 
  4. Orally antibiotics
    1. Erythromycin
    2. Ampicillin
  5. Antihistamin
    1. Cetrizine
